Solar panel services
Most homes look at two things: panels on the roof, and a battery to store spare power. Each has its own page, because the work and the checks differ. Both explain the questions worth asking.
Read about solar panel installation first if you are starting out. Then see how solar battery storage could fit, since many homes add one later. To see how this works where you live, browse our pages on solar panel installers near you.
What each service covers
The installation guide explains what a fitted system includes, from the survey to the sign-off. It also covers the roof checks that MCS now expects, because a weak roof can stop a job. The battery guide looks at what a battery stores, what it can deliver at once and when it may be worth adding.
Both guides name the standards that apply. MCS sets the rules for solar installs in MIS 3002 and for batteries in MIS 3012. As a result, you can ask an installer whether it works to them and check its answer on the public MCS register.
How the referral works
We are an independent guide. We do not fit panels, sell batteries or lend money. However, you can send an enquiry through our form if you want help finding installers.
That enquiry goes into the central MoreLeadz lead dashboard. The operator then reviews it by hand, since nothing runs on autopilot. Matched MCS-certified installers may contact you, but nothing happens automatically and you have no obligation to reply.
We make no promise about how fast anyone will respond. Because replies can vary, we suggest you gather at least three written quotes from firms you have checked yourself. Our guide to finding an installer shows how to do that.
